VANCOUVER - Garry Nunn scored twice to help the Vancouver Giants to a 3-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers in Western Hockey League action Thursday.
Mike Berube scored the winning goal for the Giants (25-7-1-3). The Giants scored the only goal of the first. Chris Cloud knocked the puck out of the air and fed it to Nunn in front, at at 16:14. The Giants doubled their lead when Brent Regner's point shot missed the net but ricocheted off the end boards right to Nunn, who potted the rebound for his second of the game.
Kenton Dulle then scored from the top of the faceoff circle to cut the lead in half.
Justin Leclaire made an effort to keep his team in the game, forcing Spencer Machacek to hit the outside of the post on a breakaway with five minutes to go in the game.
Kamloops pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and during a firing gallery, Dulle scored his second of the game with a minute to go to put Kamloops within one again.
However, Sexsmith closed the door after that, making 25 saves to earn his 24th win of the season.
