Welcome to the Gameday Blog, which will be updated throughout the day with news, lineup information, videos, and tweets.
The San Jose Sharks are back on the road tonight as they visit the Los Angeles Kings for the first half of a SoCal back-to-back.
The Sharks are looking to get back into the win column tonight after having lost their past three games at home. The previous game was a disappointing 7-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Logan Couture scored two goals - the first of which marked his 500th NHL point - and Joe Thornton scored the other. It's important for the Sharks to win tonight as they try to chase the Flames for first in the Pacific and the West.
This is the final of four meetings between the Sharks and Kings this season. The Sharks are 2-0-1 so far against their Southern California rivals. The previous game back on January 7 saw the Sharks win 3-1, with Erik Karlsson recording three assists.
Based on practice yesterday, both Erik Karlsson and Joe Pavelski look to remain out of the lineup tonight - though both made the trip. There is a chance Pavelski may play, but that will likely not be confirmed until game time.
The San Jose Sharks clinched a playoff spot on Tuesday night with the Minnesota Wild's loss to the Colorado Avalanche. At this point, the Sharks are purely playing for playoff seeing.
