The San Jose Sharks are back on the road for their final road trip of the season. First stop on the four-game roadie is Chicago. The Sharks and Blackhawks are both 1-1 against each other this season so we'll see who takes home the winning record.
Last game the Sharks defeated the Calgary Flames 5-1 at SAP Center. That was the Sharks seventh straight win- the longest winning streak of the season and their longest since the 2012-13 season. Defenseman Brenden Dillon had a goal, assist and a fight earning his second Gordie Howe hat trick and first with the Sharks. Brent Burns tallied an assist giving him his 60th point of the season. Burns now has four straight seasons with 60+ points. Forward Logan Couture left the bench last game in the third period with an undisclosed injury. He still made the trip and is expected to play.
Lat meeting between the Sharks and Blackhawks the Sharks scored seven goals, including two by Joe Pavelski. Logan Couture's goal moved him into a tie with Owen Nolan for 4th place for goals scored in Sharks franchise history. Dylan DeMelo set career-highs for points in a season (11) and points in a game (3), while Brent Burns tied a franchise record for blocked shots in a game (9).
The Sharks are still on the hunt for a playoffs. Although they haven't clinched yet, Team Teal is just six points behind the Golden Knights for first in Pacific.
