"I feel the same at home or away," said Koskinen, who posted a .969 save percentage and is 11-3-1 this campaign. "It's still the same game but somehow we're playing really well at home. We're taking advantage of it right now and have to keep doing that every game."
Koskinen had a major hand in helping Edmonton go 5-for-5 on the penalty kill against the Flyers.
"He's been outstanding," Draisaitl, who picked up three assists on the night, said of Koskinen. "We really believe in him."
With two games in two nights for the Oilers, the club didn't let the fatigue of a back-to-back become an issue on Friday.
"I thought our energy got better and better as it went on," said Oilers Head Coach Ken Hitchcock of the back-to-back scenario. "We knew that was going to happen. It kind of works in reverse."
Added Draisaitl: "On a back-to-back, you're always a little more exhausted than the first night but that's when you rely on your structure."
Philly generated some pressure in the Oilers zone early, pushing up on the centre line to limit Edmonton's transition but Koskinen turned aside every shot he faced, including a stop on Travis Konecny from the side of the net.
Koskinen's early performance paved the way for the Oilers to get on the board first. Chiasson set his new career high at 12:37, going glove side from the slot on Philly goalie Anthony Stolarz after a setup from McDavid and Draisaitl. The winger picked up his 18th point of the season while McDavid and Draisaitl recorded their 29th and 24th assists on the play, respectively, continuing their hot streaks of late.
Draisaitl is on a five-game point streak with three goals and nine assists and McDavid is riding an eight-game heater, notching 15 points.
But McDavid alluded to winger Chiasson's play of late in his post-game interview.
"There's a knack for scoring, for sure," said No. 97 of his linemate. "He seems to have it right now. He has that quick release, so he doesn't need to be open for long."
Koskinen stopped the eight shots he saw in the opening 20, keeping the Oilers up by one to enter the middle frame.
"I just thought he was solid," said Hitchcock of his netminder. "He's solid. It seems like Talbs (Cam Talbot) gets more odd-man rushes than Koski does and Koski gets more in-zone play."
