Goalie Scott Darling made 18 saves and forward Tyler Motte scored two goals to help the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-0 shutout win against the St. Louis Blues at United Center on Saturday.

Motte, 21, scored his first goal of the game with 29 seconds left in the second period to give the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead. He made it 4-0 on a shorthanded goal with 39 seconds left in regulation. The goals were Motte's first two with the Blackhawks.
Forward Artemi Panarin also scored and right wing Patrick Kane had an assist in his preseason debut for Chicago.
Blues goalie Carter Hutton allowed three goals on 26 shots in the first two periods. Jordan Binnington made 11 saves in the third.
The Blackhawks outshot the Blues 38-18.
