"Collectively as a group, we knew it wasn't our best game," Preds defenseman Dante Fabbro said Friday. "There were just a lot of breakdowns in areas that we need to be better on details-wise. But moving on to today, we had a great practice out there and just got back to our identity and having a hard practice and making sure we're good to go again tomorrow. It's going to be a good game… and there's definitely a few things you can take from every game you play in, but we want to move forward and put our best foot forward."
"We didn't like a lot of things about the Seattle game, starting with our competitive nature and what makes us a hard team to play against," Preds Head Coach John Hynes said Friday. "That wasn't at the level that it needed to be, and also, our attention to detail, the way that we need to play it off the puck, again, wasn't close to what it needed to be. So, we addressed some of those areas with our guys and we had a pretty pointed practice today. Now, we've got to get ready, take the lessons from that, but also understand that there needs to be improvements in our mindset and the way that we're playing the game right now to give ourselves the best chance to win. We're expecting a much more competitive effort, a more detailed effort tomorrow to give ourselves a good chance to win a hockey game."
Defenseman Mark Borowiecki returned to the lineup on Wednesday in Seattle. Defenseman Alexandre Carrier (day-to-day) and forward Nick Cousins (week-to-week) are nearing return from their respective injuries, but their status for tonight's game is uncertain.
