Gallagher scores hat trick as Giants win 4-2 over Seattle Thunderbirds @NHLdotcom

KENT, Wash. - Brendan Gallagher scored a hat trick to lift the visiting Vancouver Giants to a 4-2 Western Hockey League win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday night.

Gallagher, who now has 14 goals this season, opened the scoring for Vancouver at 8:19 of the first period.

Kyle Verdino made it close for Seattle with a goal at 13:22 and Justin Hickman scored for the Thunderbirds in the second period.

Marek Tvrdon scored into an empty net for Vancouver at 19:59 with the Giants on a power play.

Gallagher, a fifth-round selection of the Montreal Canadiens, also had an assist in the game. In 13 games for the Giants this season, Gallagher now has 23 points.

Seattle goaltender Calvin Pickard made 46 saves in the game as Vancouver outshot Seattle 50-23.

The loss drops Seattle to 5-7-0 on the season and the Thunderbirds are now only 2-5-0 at home in the ShoWare Center this season.

Vancouver improves to 8-8-1 this season.
