ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Gabriel Dumont scored the shootout winner as the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Rochester Americans 3-2 on Friday night.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 15:32 of the second period on a goal by Zack FitzGerald, who received a pass from T.J. Fast and slapped a shot from the point. The puck bounced off a defender?s stick and over the shoulder of Rochester starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre.
The Amerks evened the score at 10:49 of the third frame on a tally by Corey Tropp who wristed a shot through the five hole of Hamilton starting goaltender Nathan Lawson.
The Bulldogs pulled ahead on a power play goal by Philip DeSimone at 13:19 of the third period. DeSimone scooped up a loose puck and buried a backhand past MacIntyre.
The Americans squared the score for the second time on a power play marker at 14:58 of the third when Tropp tapped in a bouncing puck.
Lawson finished with 29 saves for Hamilton (3-2-0).
MacIntyre stopped 20 shots for Rochester (3-2-1).
