Friday's WHL Roundup @NHLdotcom

It's only Andrej Kurdna's rookie season, but judging by his performance Friday he'll be around for a long time.

Kurdna scored a hat trick and added an assist as the Vancouver Giants exploded for 10 goals in a 10-2 rout of the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Friday. The 16-year-old native of Nove Zamky, Slovakia, who is not eligible for the NHL draft until next year, now has six points in his first five major junior games.

His hot start is mirrored by his team. The Giants are undefeated in regulation so far this season, and they made short work of Seattle, who have yet to win in their first five games.

Mike Berube, Gary Nunn, Adam Basford, Casey Pierro-Zabotel, James Henry, Evander Kane, and James Wright also scored for Vancouver (5-0-0-1).

David Richard and Sena Acolatse replied for the Thunderbirds (0-5-0-0).
