Friday's QMJHL roundup @NHLdotcom

Alexandre Quesnel put the Val-d'Or Foreurs on his shoulders Friday night.

He scored back-to-back goals to lift the Foreurs to a 3-2 win over the Montreal Junior in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Quesnel's tallies were just 48 seconds apart in the third period, putting Val-d'Or ahead. They were his 25th and 26th goals of the season.

A recent addition to the Foreurs, Quesnel was traded from the Gatineau Olympiques on Dec. 29. Since joining Val-d'Or, he has scored nine goals and nine assists, for a total of 61 points this season.

The win ends a two-game hiccup for the Foreurs, who have gone 3-6-1 in their last ten games.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was Victoriaville 5 Lewiston 1; Drummondville 8 Baie-Comeau 1; Saint John 3 Cape Breton 2; Moncton 3 Shawinigan 1; Quebec 6 Acadie-Bathurst 4 and Rouyn-Noranda 4 Gatineau 1.

At Verdun, Que., Simon Lacroix had the other goal for Val-d'Or (20-30-6).

Jeremy Gouchie and David Stich replied for Montreal (25-24-5).


Tigres 5 Maineiacs 1

At Lewiston, Maine, Tomas Kubalik scored the first and last goals of the game as Victoriaville out-paced the Maineiacs.

Joel Champagne, Emmanuel Boudreau and Brandon Hynes also had goals for the Tigres (38-17-2).

Matthew Bissonnette had the only goal for Lewiston (19-34-3).


Voltigeurs 8 Drakkar 1

At Drummondville, Que., Gabriel Dumont had a hat trick as the Voltigeurs blasted Baie-Comeau.

Philippe Lefebvre scored twice and added an assist for Drummondville (38-15-2), while Alexandre Comtois, Jonathan Brunelle and Benjamin Larabie pitched in with markers.

Marc-Olivier Mimar answered for the Drakkar (16-35-4).


Sea Dogs 3 Screaming Eagles 2

At Saint John, N.B., Zack Phillips scored the eventual winner as the Sea Dogs nipped Cape Breton.

Mike Hoffman opened scoring with a short-handed marker for Saint John (46-8-1), while Nicholas Pard had a goal of his own.

Nick MacNeil and Luke Adam both had power-play tallies for the Screaming Eagles (31-20-5).


Wildcats 3 Cataractes 1

At Shawinigan, Que., Scott Brannon was in on all of Moncton's points as the Wildcats downed the Cataractes.

Brannon had a goal and two assists for Moncton (37-13-5), while Alex Wall and David Savard added markers.

Raphael Pouliot had a short-handed goal for Shawinigan (28-22-7).


Remparts 6 Titan 4

At Bathurst, N.B., Dmitri Kugryshev had a pair of goals and assists as Quebec toppled the Titan.

Mikhail Stefanovich scored and added two assists for the Remparts (35-15-7), while Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, Matthew Brown and Marc-Olivier Vallerand also tallied.

Ryan McKiernan scored twice for Acadie-Bathurst (20-32-6), while Jonathan Lessard and David Gilbert chipped in as well.


Huskies 4 Olympiques 1

At Gatineau, Que., Dmitry Kostromitin had the eventual winner and an assist as Rouyn-Noranda snuffed the Olympiques.

Sergey Ostapchuk, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and Jordan Caron also found the back of the net for the Huskies (33-20-4).

Denis Kindl was the lone scorer for Gatineau (25-24-5).
