Friday's QMJHL roundup @NHLdotcom

The Moncton Wildcats continue to thrive after they retooled at the trade deadline.

Daniel Pettersson had back-to-back power-play goals as Moncton doubled the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 6-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Friday night.

Pettersson's first goal was the eventual winner, as the Wildcats won their 12th straight.

Moncton made several moves before the QMJHL's Jan. 7 trade deadline, acquiring big names like forwards Nicolas Deschamps and Gabriel Bourque.

The Wildcats have not lost in 2010, and have climbed up to second place overall. Only the Saint John Sea Dogs, their division rivals, have a better record.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was Quebec 3 Halifax 1; Shawinigan 5 Baie-Comeau 4 (OT); Gatineau 3 Chicoutimi 1; Lewiston 7 Rimouski 5; Rouyn-Noranda 3 Montreal 2 (OT) and Saint John 6 Val-d'Or 3.

At Moncton, N.B., Randy Cameron, Scott Brannon, Nicolas Deschamps and Ted Stephens also scored for Moncton (35-11-4).

Eric Faille had a short-handed goal for Acadie-Bathurst (18-29-5), while Olivier Dame-Malka and Bryce Milson also found the back of the net.


Remparts 3 Mooseheads 1

At Quebec City, Matthew Brown had the short-handed winner as the Remparts beat Halifax.

Mikhail Stefanovich and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault also scored for Quebec (30-14-7).

Brent Andrews had the only goal for the Mooseheads (11-36-4).


Cataractes 5 Drakkar 4 (OT)

At Shawinigan, Que., Antoine Houde-Caron had the overtime winner to lift the Cataractes over Baie-Comeau.

Philippe Paradis scored twice and added an assist for Shawinigan (24-20-7), while Michael Claffey and Michael Bournival chipped in as well.

Marc-Olivier Mimar had back-to-back power-play goals for the Drakkar (16-30-4), while David Cliche and Jean-Philippe Caron also tallied.


Olympiques 3 Sagueneens 1

At Gatineau, Que., Jacob Conrad had the eventual winner as the Olympiques tripled Chicoutimi.

Benjamin Laliberte and Jason Seed also scored for Gatineau (24-21-5).

Antoine Roussel was the lone scorer for the Sagueneens (18-24-8).


Maineiacs 7 Oceanic 5

At Rimouski, Que., Matthew Bissonnette scored twice and added two assists as Lewiston upset the Oceanic.

Stefan Fournier had a pair of goals for the Maineiacs (18-29-3), while Samuel Carrier, Cameron Critchlow and Etienne Brodeur added singles.

Ryan Kavanagh tallied and had two assists for Rimouski (24-20-6), while Alex Emond, Gleason Fournier, Alexandre Durette and Pierre-Luc Coulombe all scored in the third period.


Huskies 3 Junior 2 (OT)

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Jeff Desjardins scored in overtime as the Huskies nipped Montreal.

Sergey Ostapchuk and Jerome Gauthier-Leduc added singles for Rouyn-Noranda (30-18-4).

Guillaume Asselin had both of the goals for the Junior (24-20-4).


Sea Dogs 6 Foreurs 3

At Saint John, N.B., Jonathan Huberdeau and Stanislav Galiev both had a goal and an assist as the Sea Dogs doubled Val-d'Or.

Nicholas Pard opened scoring for Saint John (41-8-1), while Michael Kirkpatrick, Mike Thomas and Nicholas Petersen also tallied.

Anthony Taylor, Samuel Morneau and Cedrick Henley had markers for the Foreurs (18-27-5).
