Mathieu Corbeil-Theriault backstopped the lowly Halifax Mooseheads to something they haven't had all season: a winning streak.

Corbeil-Theriault made 36 saves as the last-place Mooseheads won their third straight game, upsetting the Moncton Wildcats 2-1 on Friday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Corbeil-Theriault has been in net for all three Halifax victories, allowing just three goals on 102 shots over that span. His recent play is a silver lining in an otherwise dismal start to the season for the Mooseheads (4-18-1), who sit last in the league with nine points and just 60 goals scored.

With Halifax trailing 1-0 after the first period, Gerrad Grant scored early in the second and assisted on Garrett Clarke's power-play goal, which stood up as the game-winner thanks to 15 third-period saves by Corbeil-Theriault.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Chicoutimi 4 Rimouski 1; Drummondville 6 Lewiston 3; Rouyn-Noranda 3 Montreal 2; Victoriaville 4 Gatineau 1; and Val-d'Or 6 Cape Breton 3.

At Halifax, Simon Jodoin scored the lone goal for Moncton (12-7-3), which is on a three-game losing skid and sits third in the Atlantic Division.

Louis Domingue stopped 31 shots.
