Friday's OHL Roundup @NHLdotcom

The post-Brian Kilrea era at the Ottawa Civic Centre didn't begin well Friday night as the Niagara IceDogs downed the 67's 5-3 in Ontario Hockey League action.

Chris DeSousa scored twice for the IceDogs and Alex Friesen, Andrew Shaw and Dylan Wood chipped in with a goal apiece to give Niagara (1-1-1) its first win of the season. Andrew Agozzino and Reggie Traccitto each had two assists, while Mark Visentin made 22 saves for the win.

"We turned the puck over in places we can't, but if I expect us not to make mistakes, I'm not realistic," new 67's head coach Chris Byrne said. "Mistakes are going to be made, but when they're hard working . . . you can accept them. When guys are floating through and not working hard, then we've got a problem."

Elsewhere in OHL action it was: Sudbury 4 Barrie 3; Peterborough 6 Oshawa 4; Belleville 3 Brampton 1; London 3 Mississauga 0; Sault Ste. Marie 2 Kingston 0; Sarnia 3 Erie 2; Kitchener 3 Owen Sound 2 (OT); and Windsor 5 Guelph 2.

At Ottawa, Dalton Smith had two goals for the 67's (1-1-1) with fourth-year forward Thomas Nesbitt chipping in with a goal and two assists. Petr Mrazek made 27 saves in the loss.
