Fredrik Claesson scores winner, Binghamton beats St. John's 5-4 in OT @NHLdotcom

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Fredrik Claesson scored 1:35 into overtime as the Binghamton Senators edged the host St. John's IceCaps 5-4 on Tuesday in American Hockey League action.

Matt Puempel, Travis Ewanyk, Eric O'Dell and Colin Greening also scored for the Senators (2-1-0), Ottawa's AHL affiliate, while Patrick Mullen chipped in with three assists.

Gabriel Dumont had a pair of goals for the IceCaps (3-1-1), Montreal's farm team, and Bud Holloway and Darren Dietz added the others.

Binghamton's Chris Driedger made 24 saves for the win as Dustin Tokarski turned away 32-of-37 shots for St. John's.

The Senators went 1 for 2 on the power play while the IceCaps scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
