Fraser scores hat trick as Kootenay defeats Wheat Kings 7-3 @NHLdotcom

BRANDON, Man. - Matt Fraser scored a hat trick as the Kootenay Ice dumped the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-3 in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.

Dominik Pacovsky added two goals for the Ice (4-5-0). Max Reinhart and Steele Boomer also scored for the Ice, while Jesse Ismond set up three Kootenay goals.

Scott Glennie, Alexander Urbom and Toni Rajala scored for the Wheat Kings (4-3-1). The goals by imports Urbom and Rajala were the first of their WHL careers.

Nathan Lieuwen stopped 32 shots for Kootenay, while Brandon netminder Ty Rimmer made 21 saves in his first WHL start.
