Franson scores twice to lead the Giants over the Cougars 3-1

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants pulled off the weekend sweep of Prince George, defeating the Cougars 3-1 on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.

Cain Franson led the way for Vancouver (22-12-2) with two goals while Austin Vetterl added an empty-net goal.

Alex Forsberg scored the lone goal for Prince George (12-21-2).

Adam Morrison made 22 saves for his league leading 21st win of the year as Drew Owsley stopped 32 shots in defeat.

Franson now has 10 points in six games this season against the Cougars.

Vancouver defeated Prince George 3-2 on Friday.
