Francis and Walker score in shootout as Portland edges Seattle 3-2 @NHLdotcom

KENT, Wash. - Chris Francis and Luke Walker both scored in the shootout to help the Portland Winterhawks beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Troy Rutkowski and Taylor Peters scored for Portland (39-23-3). Ian Curtis made 39 saves for the win.

Branden Troock and Tyler Alos had the goals for Seattle (17-35-12). Goaltender Calvin Pickard stopped 44 of 46 shots for Seattle.

Burke Gallimore scored for Seattle in the shootout to tie it 1-1 before Walker scored to pick up the win for Portland.
