WINDSOR, Ont. - Andrew Fournier scored the shootout winner as the Plymouth Whalers beat the Windsor Spitfires 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.
The Whalers (6-3-1-0) opened the scoring in the second period through A.J. Jenks but Greg Nemisz replied for the Spitfires (8-2-0-2) with one second remaining in the stanza. The scoreless third period was interrupted a handful of times as both teams had to empty their benches to clear a dense fog off the Windsor Arena ice.
Windsor's Andrew Engelage faced 33 shots while the Whalers' Jeremy Smith had to contend with 50 Windsor shots.
