Four-point nights from Long, Benn lead Kelowna to 7-3 win over Seattle @NHLdotcom

KELOWNA, B.C. - Colin Long and Jamie Benn each had a goal and three assists as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-3 in WHL action on Wednesday night.

Lucas Bloodoff, with two goals, Stepan Novotny, Dylan Hood and Evan Bloodoff also scored for Kelowna (10-7-0-0), which led 2-0 after the first period and 4-2 after the second, but only after Seattle rallied to make it 2-2.

Gregg Scott and Jim O'Brien, with back-to-back goals three minutes apart in the second, and Prab Rai replied for Seattle (4-10-0-1), which had a modest two-game winning streak come to an end.

Adam Brown earned the win for Kelowna, making 15 saves, all of them in relief after starter Kris Lazaruk was pulled early in the second when Seattle tied the game. Lazaruk finished the night with just 24 minutes of ice time and nine saves.

Jacob DeSerres turned aside 21 shots for the T-Birds.
