RED DEER, Alta. - Kris Foucault scored twice and added an assist as the Calgary Hitmen cruised to a 7-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Friday night in the Western Hockey League.
Foucault, who came to Calgary without a goal in 40 career regular-season WHL games, has now scored three times in four games since joining the Hitmen from the Kootenay Ice.
Brett Sonne added a goal and two assists for Calgary (41-7-2-1), the second-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League. Alex Plante, Keith Seabrook, Kyle Bortis and Carson McMillan had a goal and an assist apiece.
Jordie Deagle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, with his first career WHL goal, countered for the Rebels (16-25-1-6), who were outshot 30-24.
Calgary's Martin Jones stopped 22 shots to become the first goaltender to reach the 30-win plateau this season.
Darcy Kuemper started for Red Deer but was pulled in the third period after allowing six goals on 26 shots. Cam Gorchynski stopped three of four shots in relief.
