Forward Esposito has goal, two assists as Montreal beats Shawinigan 4-1 @NHL

Montreal Junior forward Angelo Esposito was everywhere on Wednesday, so it was fitting his second-period goal stood as the winner.

Esposito had a goal and two assists as the Junior beat the Shawinigan Cataractes 4-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was P.E.I. 5 Halifax 2, Lewiston 4 Cape Breton 1 and Quebec 7 Chicoutimi 1.

At Montreal, Benjamin Rubin, Alex Wall and Chris Thorne added goals for Montreal (16-14-1-0).

Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll countered for Shawinigan (27-6-0-0).

Rocket 5, Mooseheads 2

At Charlottetown, Mathieu Tousignant's goal and an assist paced the Rocket to a win over Halifax.

Maxime Provencher, Benjamin Casavant, Olivier Morin and Simon Olsson also scored for P.E.I. (12-16-6)

Gabriel Desjardins and Alexis Piette countered for the Mooseheads (10-22-2).


Maineiacs 4 Screaming Eagles 1

At Lewiston, Maine, Denis Reul's first-period goal stood as the winner as the Maineiacs topped Cape Breton.

Matt Bourdeau, Pierre-Olivier Morin and Danick Paquette added goals for Lewiston (12-21-0-0).

Joey Haddad had the lone goal for the Screaming Eagles (20-11-1-1).


Remparts 7 Sagueneens 1

At Chicoutimi, Que., Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Dmitri Kugryshev had a goal and three assists each as Quebec trounced the Sagueneens.

David Gilbert, Sebastien Trudeau, Guillaume Monast, Mikael Tam and Kelsey Tessier added goals for the Remparts (23-7-0-2).

Michael Belanger had the goal for Chicoutimi (13-16-1-2).
