It's become the tape application seen around the hockey world.
Thousands of rolls of the sticky binding make their way through the Predators locker room each season, but as we found out last week, Filip Forsberg applies his differently than most.
During the team's annual "Gladiator Days" in which the players shoot promotional videos and partake in behind-the-scenes activities, Preds broadcaster Chris Mason tweeted a video of Forsberg taping his socks in an unorthodox manner.

As the video shows, instead of affixing the material one leg at a time, the Swede elects to wrap clear strands around both legs before enacting a karate chop to slice the two in half and finish the job. The reaction on Twitter caught on quickly, with those in NHL circles chiming in to say they had never seen anything like it.

Forsberg, who says he learned the technique from a friend back home when he was a teenager, admits he misses every once in a while, but has a conversion rate of "nine out of 10, at least."

Those who are mainstays in the Nashville locker room are used to it, but Forsberg says it usually catches a fresh face off guard.
"When there's a new guy, he's like, 'Whoa, what's going on?'" Forsberg laughed. "But then they realize it's an everyday thing."
At the end of the day, a roll of tape isn't going to make or break anything, but nevertheless, the question has to be asked - is there anything Forsberg can't do?
