The Boston Bruins called on a local sports icon with a history of playoff success in their attempt to gain the upper hand in their Eastern Conference Second Round series.
Pedro Martinez, the Hall of Fame pitcher who spent seven seasons with the Red Sox, hyped the crowd at TD Garden as the honorary fan banner captain at Game 3 between the Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Martinez's appearance alone revved up the home crowd. But sitting in a luxury box alongside fellow Boston sports icon Bobby Orr, and clad in a personalized Bruins jersey with red letters and numbers, Martinez further inspired the fans by showing off some killer dance moves.
Martinez won six playoff games during his tenure with the Red Sox, including two in 2004 when he helped them end an 86-year championship drought.
