Two former Lady Ducks, defenseman Cayla Barnes and forward Annie Pankowski, won the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship (Espoo, Finland) today as the United States defeated Finland 2-1 in a shootout. Pankowski was named "Player of the Game" in the Championship, scoring a goal and the game-deciding shootout tally.

Pankowski ranked tied for seventh among tournament skaters in points (4-3=7) and tied for fifth in plus/minus (+10). Barnes was named to the tournament Media All-Star Team and ranked tied for third among defensemen in points (2-4=6) and tied for second in plus/minus (+8). Pankowski played with the Lady Ducks from 2005-11 while Barnes developed with the Lady Ducks from 2006-11.
