Flyers' Timonen leaves game against Penguins

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen left the game Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins during the second period with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Timonen played 19 shifts and had 13:00 of ice time before leaving. He had a nine-second shift around 14 minutes into the second period and did not play again.

General manager Paul Holmgren said after the 4-1 loss that Timonen would be evaluated again on Friday.
