Flyers return four players to junior teams; Oilers send Flinn to AHL @NHL

(CP) - The Edmonton Oilers have assigned forward Ryan Flinn to their Springfield, Mass., AHL farm team.

Flinn, a native of Halifax, has played 31 NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings during his seven-year pro career. He played last season for the AHL's San Antonio Rampage.

Other NHL camp cups Tuesday:

-Defenceman Kevin Marshall, a second-round pick in the 2007 NHL entry draft, has been returned to the QMJHL's Lewiston, Me., team by Philadelphia.

Also returned to junior teams by the Flyers were forwards Mario Kempe (St. John's, QMJHL), Garrett Klotz (Saskatoon Blades, WHL) and Patrick Maroon (London, OHL).

Philadelphia also released forward Matt Stefanishion and defenceman Ryan Wilson. They'd been invited to camp on a try-out basis.

-Chicago returned to junior teams forwards Richard Greenop (Windsor, OHL), Akim Aliu (London, OHL) and Maxime Tanguay (Rimouski, QMJHL), defenceman Ben Shutron (Kingston, OHL) and goatlender Josh Unice (Kitchener, OHL).

-Boston assigned five players to their Providence, R.I., farm team. Forwards Chris Collins, Redi Jorgensen and Jamison Orr, defenceman Daryl Boyle and goaltender Mike Brown were all sent down.

-San Jose returned centre Logan Couture and left-wing Jamie McGinn to the OHL's Ottawa 67's.
