Laughton agrees to two-year contract with Flyers

Forward gets $2.3 million annually, avoids arbitration hearing @NHLdotcom

Scott Laughton agreed to terms on a two-year, $4.6 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday. It has an average annual value of $2.3 million.

The 25-year-old forward, who was a restricted free agent, avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for July 30. He had NHL career highs in goals (12), assists (20) and points (32) in 82 games with the Flyers last season.

Selected by Philadelphia in the first round (No. 20) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Laughton has 79 points (31 goals, 48 assists) in 272 regular-season games and one goal in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games.
