Flyers goalie Mason likely to skate Wednesday: report

NHL.com @NHL

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason is expected to take part in the morning skate Wednesday ahead of their game against the Chicago Blackhawks (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN), according to CSNPhilly.com. However, it is unknown if he will play against the Blackhawks.

Mason was not in the lineup Monday against the Florida Panthers because of a family issue. He was not at practice Tuesday.

In Mason's absence, Michal Neuvirth made 31 saves in the Flyers' 1-0 win against the Florida Panthers. It was Neuvirth's first shutout since 2012. Jason LaBarbera was recalled from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League on Monday to serve as Neuvirth's backup.

Neuvirth and LaBarbera were at practice Tuesday.
