Flyers' Downie won't play against Bruins

by Adam Kimelman

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Steve Downie will miss his fourth straight game with an upper-body injury Sunday against the Boston Bruins (12:30 p.m. ET, NBC), but could be close to returning to the lineup.

Downie, who was hurt on the opening shift of the Flyers' game March 22 against the St. Louis Blues when he collided with St. Louis' Patrik Berglund, was a full participant at practice Saturday.

"I feel pretty good, actually," Downie said. "I'm almost ready. Nothing's really bothering me. There's just a couple more steps I need to take."

Among those steps are receiving medical clearance to return to game action. Coach Craig Berube said he wasn't sure when that would happen, and Downie said he's not going to rush things.

"That's for the coaching staff and the training staff to decide," he said. "I'll let them evaluate it and see what their decisions are."

With Downie's continued absence it's likely the Flyers keep the same lineups they used in their win Friday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Bruins also likely will go with the same lineup except for a change in goal. Chad Johnson was in net Saturday in the Bruins' 4-2 win against the Washington Capitals that clinched the Atlantic Division title, so expect to see Tuukka Rask back in net for the Bruins on Sunday. In seven regular-season starts against the Flyers, Rask is 4-1-1 with a 1.87 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.

Here are the lineups the teams are expected to use Sunday:
