The Philadelphia Flyers did not skate Saturday morning after arriving late Friday night following a dispiriting 5-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center.
Philadelphia may have lost more than the game; defenseman Kimmo Timonen did not play in the third period with a lower-body injury and his status for Saturday night remains in question.
Though there’s been no confirmation from the Flyers, Brian Boucher should get the start in goal over Ilya Bryzgalov.
The Canadiens also will be playing their backup goaltender with starter Carey Price out because of a stomach flu. Peter Budaj will be seeking his first win of the season in his third start.
Canadiens coach Michel Therrien made a minor adjustment to his lines Saturday morning in an attempt to get Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais to produce some offense, placing rookie Brendan Gallagher on their right wing. Pacioretty does not have a goal in nine games this season, and dating to last season he has scored three goals in his past 23 games.
It will make for a line lacking size; Desharnais is listed at 5-foot-7, and Gallagher is listed at 5-foot-9.
Here is the lineup the Flyers used Friday night and the lines from the Canadiens morning skate:
