Flyers' Briere out with upper-body injury

by Dan Rosen / NHL.com
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers center Danny Briere won't be in the lineup Saturday night against the Carolina Hurricanes due to an upper-body injury. He is being listed as day-to-day. Matt Read will move to the middle and will center a line that includes James van Riemsdyk and Jakub Voracek.

Max Talbot was skating between Andreas Nodl and Wayne Simmonds during the morning skate. It's possible that is a line Flyers coach Peter Laviolette uses, but that would mean Sean Couturier would move to the fourth line and center Zac Rinaldo and Jody Shelley.

The line of Claude Giroux between Jaromir Jagr and Scott Hartnell will definitely remain the same.

Briere had 4 points in Thursday's 9-8 loss to Winnipeg. He has 10 points in 10 games this season.
