ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Nikolai Zherdev scored in regulation and in a shootout to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.
Sergei Bobrovsky, the 22-year-old Russian goalie who signed with the Flyers in May, stopped all three of the Wild's shootout attempts and made 18 saves in regulation as he attempts to make Philadelphia's roster. The Flyers (3-0-1) have had all three of their games go to a shootout.
Philadelphia's Darroll Powe scored at the 11-minute mark of the third period to tie it and force overtime.
Chuck Kobasew and Casey Wellman scored for Minnesota (0-3) and Niklas Backstrom made 26 saves.
