On Saturday, the Florida Panthers and their fans at BB&T Center likely will get to see their good-luck charm in person.
Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey is expected to attend the Panthers game against the Detroit Red Wings (7 p.m. ET; FS-D+, FS-F, NHL.TV), according to the Miami Herald.
Spacey, whose face adorns the "Spacey in Space" blue sweatshirt the Panthers have awarded to their player of the game, posted a video on his Twitter account on Thursday, showing him packing a suitcase, including a custom-made Panthers jersey. Along with the video, Spacey wrote, "No blarney … Spacey IS in space. #FloridaPanthers"
According to the Herald report, Spacey is expected to meet with the Panthers on Saturday and drop the ceremonial first puck before the game.
The "Spacey in Space" sweatshirt has become part of Panthers lore since December, when the team began giving it to their star of the game. The Panthers began selling the sweatshirts for charity in their team store since January, and Spacey received one himself during an appearance on the "Today Show" last month.
