BOSTON -- David Pastrnak scored his second goal of the game with 3:37 remaining in overtime, and Tuukka Rask made 27 saves to help the Boston Bruins to a 4-3 win against the Florida Panthers at TD Garden on Monday.
Tim Schaller and David Backes also scored, and defenseman Zdeno Chara returned after missing six games because of a lower-body injury for the Bruins (15-10-1), who have won three in a row and are 4-0-1 in their past five games. David Krejci had two assists.

Pastrnak's goal was his 15th of the season and third game-winner. No other Bruins forward has more than seven goals.
"He's been huge for us," Backes said of Pastrnak. "He's been finding those areas again. And with his finish, his hands, his confidence, I wouldn't want to be a goalie in there."

Jaromir Jagr, Aleksander Barkov and Jason Demers scored for Florida (12-11-3), which is 1-2-2 through the first five games of its six-game road trip. With his goal, Jagr moved to within six points of Mark Messier for second on the all-time scoring list with 1,881 points.
Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo made 32 saves and moved into sole possession of fifth place on the all-time games played list with 944, passing Curtis Joseph.

Florida trailed by one goal twice in the third period, but Demers' goal with 1:29 remaining helped the Panthers earn a point in the standings. Florida is 1-7-3 when trailing after two periods.
"That is positive. It shows that our team is getting a little bit more confidence and not giving up on games whenever we're down," Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck said. "So the fact that we came back a couple times shows some strength in this team. I'm proud of us for that. But at the end of the day, we've got to be able to close out games and we didn't do that."
Schaller gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead at 18:32 of the first period.
Florida tied it 1-1 on Jagr's goal at 9:44 of the second, but Pastrnak buried a one-timer from the slot at 16:37 to put the Bruins back in front.
Barkov tied it 2-2 at 7:54 of the third period with a wrist shot from between the circles.
Backes tipped Ryan Spooner's shot from the right point past Luongo for a 3-2 lead, but the Panthers salvaged a point on Demers' goal at 18:31.

Goal of the game

Before his goal, Schaller slid a pass down the wall to Krejci behind the net. Schaller had skated all the way out to the blue line but then drove to the net and beat Luongo with a one-timer after the pass from Krejci.

Save of the game

Luongo robbed Spooner with an incredible glove save at 2:31 of the first period.

Highlight of the game

Pastrnak carried the puck from the top of the left circle to the net and after deking to his backhand, he beat Luongo with a forehand for the game-winner.

Unsung moment of the game

Before his goal, Pastrnak saw Krejci had time to dangle with the puck. So Pastrnak left the offensive zone to generate speed and then was going full tilt as he re-entered the zone and took Krejci's pass.

They said it

"He's coming into his own. There's no doubt about that. Confidence is at its highest right now, and rightfully so. And definitely, I think he's been our best forward since the beginning of the year. It's nice to see him growing the way he is right now." -- Bruins coach Claude Julien on David Pastrnak

"I thought Vinny Trocheck was by far the best guy on the ice period for both teams. You know that was the best defensive game I have ever seen him play and he was gritty, he was getting involved physically and creating scoring chances. -- Panthers coach Tom Rowe
