MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Defenceman Brett Flemming and veteran Mike Pelech each scored a pair of goals to lead the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors to a 7-3 victory over the Owen Sound Attack Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
Flemming came into the game with just one goal to his credit this season but he scored once in the first period and again in the second as the Majors (24-19-1-2) scored all of their goals over the first 40 minutes for their second win in a row.
"The coach has been on us for a while so it was good to be able to turn this around," said Flemming. "We got a little lucky but we played hard too, so we deserved the win."
Jared Gomes, Kaspars Daugavins and Kale Kerbashian had the other goals for the Majors.
Josh Moes scored twice for the Attack (16-19-6-5), extending its winless streak to five games. Steve Shipley had the other marker.
Scott Stajcer got the start in goal for Owen Sound but he was pulled early in the second period after allowing five goals on 19 shots. Tyler Beskorowany went the rest of the way in the Attack net, stopping 13 of 15 shots.
Rookie JP Anderson, making his second start in a row in the Mississauga goal, turned back 30 of 33 shots.
