The Calgary Flames on Wednesday recalled defenseman Corey Potter from Adirondack of the American Hockey League. To make room on the roster, defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon was sent to the AHL.
Potter, 31, has spent all season in the AHL; he has 10 points and 18 penalty minutes in 25 games. Last season he had five points in 19 games with the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins. He also played in one Stanley Cup Playoff game with the Bruins.
In parts of six NHL seasons with the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Oilers and Bruins, Potter has eight goals and 32 points in 123 games.
Wotherspoon, 21, did not play in a game during his call-up. In 14 games last season with the Flames he had four assists and a minus-3 rating.
