The Calgary Flames
announced Tuesday they have re-signed forward Brett Sutter
to a one-year contract.
Sutter, son of Flames GM Darryl Sutter
, played 10 NHL games for Calgary in 2009-10 without scoring a point. He had 9 goals, 24 points and 69 penalty minutes in 66 games with Abbotsford, Calgary's AHL affiliate, then led the Heat in playoff scoring with 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) in 13 games.
Sutter, chosen in the sixth round (No. 179) in the 2005 Entry Draft, scored his only NHL goal during a four-game call-up with the Flames during the 2008-09 season.
He is the eighth member of his family to play in the NHL, a group that includes his father, five uncles and a cousin, Brandon Sutter
of the Carolina Hurricanes
