Finland grabs 3-2 lead on USA Blue

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Things opened up a bit in the second period, with a pair of goals by Finland giving it a 3-2 lead.

Ville Leskinen put Finland ahead when he rocketed down the right side, barreled in on USA Blue goalie Anthony Stolarz and beat him with a backhand to the short side at 10:59.

Artturi Lehkonen put Finland up by a pair when he scored a power-play goal halfway through a penalty on USA Blue's Nick Ebert.

Dan O'Regan cut the deficit in half for USA Blue when he scored from in close at 15:36 to make it 3-2.

USA Blue will get a chance to tie the game to start the third as Mikko Lehtonen was whistled for cross-checking during a scrum after the buzzer sounded to end the period.
