captain Andrew Ference
and leading goal scorer David Perron
were in-studio guests of NHL Live. In New York City on an Eastern Conference road trip, Ference and Perron discussed the recent play of the Oilers, winners of four of their past five games.
"We're doing the little things that make us successful," Perron said. "I felt like earlier in the year we were, at spurts, doing it, and then falling back to the old habits of trying to make too many plays. It's nice that we're rolling right now and we have to finish the season really strong."
"When you play on winning teams and go through successful stretches with teams, the biggest thing you do is realize it doesn't just happen by accident," said Ference, who won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011. "It's nothing fancy, there's not a secret formula. It's just hard work and really dedicated people involved."
