New York Rangers
forward Ruslan Fedotenko
underwent an appendectomy Wednesday and will be sidelined for three weeks, the team announced.

He has 9 goals and 19 points this season along with 16 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating in 48 games. The Rangers have posted a record of 8-0-1 when he tallies a goal, and are 12-2-2 when he registers a point. Fedotenko also ranked fourth on the team with 106 hits at the time of his injury. The 10 year NHL veteran skated in his 700th career game on Nov. 24 at Tampa Bay.
