Father of Flames president Brian Burke dies at 90

William "Bill" James Burke, the father of Calgary Flames president of hockey operations Brian Burke and grandfather of Patrick Burke, director of player safety for the NHL, died Friday. He was 90.
The Flames said Sunday that the elder Burke died in Vero Beach, Florida.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Brian and his family as they grieve their loss," the Flames said.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday in Vero Beach.
