Fast, Meidl score two goals each as Americans beat Thunderbirds 5-2 @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - T.J. Fast and Radek Meidl each scored two goals and Chet Pickard made 25 saves to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 5-2 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Mason Wilgosh also scored for the Americans, who opened up a six-point lead on Spokane in the U.S. Division and Western Conference standings. The Americans have won eight in a row and have the best record in the WHL at 43-12-1-2 (89 points).

Greg Scott and Prab Rai scored for the Thunderbirds (30-19-5-2), who had their five-game win streak ended. Riku Helenius made 32 saves.
