DraftKings picks for Monday
CENTER
Value pick: Ryan Strome, EDM ($3,200 vs. TBL):The Edmonton Oilers center has three assists, five shots on goal and one block in his past two games for an average of 4.5 DraftKings points per game. His placement on Edmonton's top power-play unit gives him exposure to high-end forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. DFS owners shouldn't go too heavy on the Oilers, but Strome could be a diamond in the rough against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday (9 p.m. ET; SNW, SUN, NHL.TV) considering Edmonton is tied for third in the League with 34.2 shots per game.
Spend up for: Steven Stamkos, TBL ($7,200 at EDM)
WING
Value pick: Mattias Janmark, DAL ($4,100 vs. NYR):The Dallas Stars wing has a goal in two straight games for an average of 4.0 DraftKings points per game. He has skated lately on the Stars second line with Jason Spezza and Devin Shore and the second power-play unit with Spezza, Brett Ritchie, John Klingberg and Esa Lindell. Janmark has a good matchup against the Rangers (8:30 p.m. ET; NHLN-US, FS-SW+, MSG, NHL.TV), who are allowing the third-most shots per game (33.7).
Spend up for: Viktor Arvidsson, NSH ($6,400 at NYI)
DEFENSE
Value pick: Mikhail Sergachev, TBL ($4,000 at EDM): The Tampa Bay Lightning rookie has struggled lately with no goals, three assists and a minus-7 in his past 10 games. This has subsequently lowered Sergachev's DraftKings price. His body of work (28 points in 50 games) makes him an attractive buy-low candidate against the Oilers, who have allowed the fifth-most goals per game (3.2).
Spend up for: Ryan Ellis, NSH ($4,900 at NYI)
GOALTENDER
Pick: Frederik Andersen, TOR ($7,900 vs. ANA):The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender is 2-1-0 with a .946 save percentage over his past three games for an average of 6.9 DraftKings points per game. The Leafs allow the third-most shots per game (33.4) making Andersen an all-in play against the Anaheim Ducks (7 p.m. ET; TSN4, PRIME, NHL.TV), his former team.
