There were plenty of friendly faces at New Jersey Devils practice on Sunday, as the Devils hosted a season ticket member open practice. Fans gathered and watched as coach John Hynes put his team through an hour-long session that ended with a shootout competition.

All players were accounted for as the team worked through all elements of the game, from five-on-five to special teams.

After the Devils' loss to the Flyers on Saturday, and the team riding a six-game winless streak, Hynes knows his team can and will be better.
"We have to believe in what we're doing," Hynes said. "We showed them some things where we've done good things. We worked a lot on our defensive zone coverage where we're making little mistakes that need to be tightened up."
On Saturday after the loss to the Flyers, Taylor Hall expressed the urgency of getting back into the win column. The Devils visit another Metropolitan Division opponent on Tuesday night, the Islanders.
"You never want to panic during a season, but you have to make sure that you get your game back as quickly as possible," Hall said. "That's what the best teams do. They get out of their funks as soon as possible and get back to their game."

The Devils were coming off their bye week, while several other teams in their division were still playing. A loss on Saturday night means an opportunity lost to gain traction in the standings.
"Teams in our division, we're lucky they're not piling up the points right now," Hall said. "A win against the Flyers] would have been a really good opportunity to make up some ground, on Columbus, on Washington, and we squandered that."
In order to get back in the win column Hynes is preaching returning to what made the team successful at the beginning of the season.
"We have to get our process better to win," Hynes said. "We know we can do that and that we are a good team. It's about what we can control - our practice, our preparation and making sure we play better against the Islanders than we have the last two games. That's the only thing we can focus on."
Despite struggling on the ice, the Devils are still always willing to give back to their community. After Sunday's practice, all team members participated in a season ticket holder autograph session. Fans came to meet and greet their favorite players with lines twisted and turned around Prudential Center. The twists and turns, much like a season goes with many ups and downs. But there is always light - or an autograph - at the end of the tunnel.
