Penguins, Lightning followers showcase anticipation for Eastern Conference Final's deciding game

Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final is at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Thursday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports), and for fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning, the waiting is the hardest part.

With the winner of the deciding game advancing to play the San Jose Sharks in the Stanley Cup Final, fans of the Penguins and Lightning tried to calm their pent-up nerves by posting on social media Thursday. 

Pittsburgh mayor Bill Peduto visited some real-life penguins for good luck.

Pittsburgh native and Steelers defensive back Ross Ventrone was so excited for Game 7, he put on his roller blades and played some street hockey to calm himself.

The city of Pittsburgh held a rally outside the Allegheny County Courthouse.

Hillsborough County in Florida countered Pittsburgh's tweet with this GIF of their advanced weather forecast for Thursday.

Major League Baseball Hall of Fame third baseman Wade Boggs is in Boston having his No. 26 retired by the Red Sox, but his granddaughter is still rooting for the Lightning.
