Faksa scores twice as the Rangers blank the Steelheads 3-0

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Radek Faksa scored two goals, including the game-winner, as the Kitchener Rangers shutout the host Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Midway through the second period, Faksa scored on a 4-on-3 power play to open the scoring for Kitchener (1-0-0.)

Faksa and Matt Puempel each scored on an empty net in the final minute of the third period to round out the Rangers' scoring.

John Gibson made 25 saves to earn the shutout for Kitchener while Spencer Martin stopped 30 of 31 shots shots in a losing effort for Mississauga (0-1-0.)

The Rangers went 1 for 3 with the man advantage while the Steelheads were blanked on six opportunities.
