Fadden scores four goals as the Americans demolish Seattle 7-1
NHL.com @NHLdotcomKENNEWICK, Wash. - Mitch Fadden had four goals, including a second-period hat trick, in helping the Tri-City Americans to a 7-1 rout of the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.
Brett Plouffe, Kruise Reddick and Mason Wilgosh also scored for the Americans (37-15-0-3), who also got three assists from Lane Werbowski and two each from Jason Reese and Jarrett Toll.
Chet Pickard finished with 27 saves for U.S. Division-leading Tri-City, which improved to 23-3-0-1 on home ice.
Seattle (24-27-1-3), which had its three-game win streak snapped, got its lone goal from Thomas Hickey in the first period. Jacob DeSerres had stopped all 14 shots by the Americans over 1 1/2 periods, but went out in the second with a groin injury. Rookie Calvin Pickard took over in the crease and gave up seven goals on 21 shots.
