Everett Silvertips prevail over Seattle 3-1; keep pace with Tri-City @NHLdotcom

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips kept themselves in the hunt for the top seed in the Western Hockey League's Western Conference, defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-1 Friday night.

Markus McCrea, Kellan Tochkin and Scott MacDonald scored as Everett (45-20-5) kept pace with first-place Tri-City. Kent Simpson earned the win with 26 saves.

Charles Wells had the only goal for Seattle (18-40-12), while Michael Salmon made 36 saves.

Tri-City beat Spokane 4-3, meaning the Silvertips remain two points behind the Americans with two games remaining.
