Everett comes out on top of nine-goal third period in 7-5 win over Seattle @NHLdotcom

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips scored four goals in a six-minute span of the third period to defeat the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-5 Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

The teams combined for nine goals in the third period.

In their first game since the tragic death of former teammate Jordan Mistelbacher, the Silvertips received two goals from Markus McCrea, as well as single tallies from Taylor Ellington, Byron Froese, Zack Dailey, Shane Harper and Kellan Tochkin.

Thomas Heemskerk made 30 saves to earn the win in goal for Everett (21-17-5-0).

Thomas Hickey scored twice, and Chris Cloud, Lindsay Nielsen and Jim O'Brien also scored for Seattle (18-22-1-3). Calvin Pickard stopped 14 of the 19 shots he faced and Jacob DeSerres stopped one of three.
