Evander Kane scores double OT winner as Giants force Game 7 with Chiefs @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Evander Kane scored the winner in double overtime as the Vancouver Giants edged the Spokane Chiefs 3-2 in the WHL Western Conference playoff semifinal Sunday.

Kane scored at 5:31 into the second overtime to help the Giants tie the series at three and force a final game at home in Vancouver. Down 2-1 in the third period, Chiefs defenceman Stefan Ulmer scored with less than two minutes left in regulation to force extra time.

Tyler Johnson also scored for Spokane, which led 1-0 through the two periods until James Wright scored twice in the third to give Vancouver a 2-1 lead.

Giants goaltender Tyson Sexsmith made 29 saves for the win, while Dustin Tokarski stopped 34 at the other end.
